Niva Kořenského potoka is a quiet, low-key nature reserve tucked into the Šumava landscape, perfect for travelers who prefer wetlands and wildflower meadows over crowded peaks. It offers a gentle walk through one of the region's most ecologically valuable corners.

The reserve stretches along the Kořenský stream, covering transitional bogs, quaking fens, species-rich mat-grass meadows, dry heathlands and ash-alder floodplain forests. In spring and summer the meadows burst with wildflowers and the wetlands hum with amphibian and reptile life, while autumn brings golden hues to the grasses and winter wraps the valley in a hushed, snowy calm. The terrain is flat to gently rolling, making it an easy and relaxing nature walk rather than a strenuous hike.

• Strážný — trail following the stream, approx. 1-1.5 hours, easy difficulty
• Orlovská Huť or Kořenný — alternative starting points along the same stream valley, also easy
