Pass Grießen is a quiet high valley pass tucked between the Kitzbühel Alps and the Leogang Steinberge, linking Tyrol and Salzburg. Once a heavily fortified border crossing, it's now a peaceful spot perfect for an easy walk or bike ride through beautiful mountain scenery.

The character of this place comes from its boggy, high-altitude valley floor, home to the small Grießensee lake and the Grießener Moor peat bog, surrounded by gentle slopes and forest. In summer it's a calm, green landscape ideal for families and cyclists, while in winter the area transforms into a well-known cross-country skiing and biathlon destination, thanks to its proximity to Hochfilzen. The wide views over the surrounding peaks and the general stillness of the valley make it worth lingering here.
