Książański Landscape Park is one of those corners of Lower Silesia that surprises even seasoned hikers. Situated on the border of the Sudeten Foreland and the Central Sudetes, it combines scenic gorges, lush forests and historic tree-lined avenues with proximity to Książ Castle — one of the largest residences in Poland. Nature and history intertwine here in a remarkably harmonious way.

The park's landscape shifts beautifully with the seasons. In spring the beech forests echo with birdsong and the damp gorges of the Pełcznica and Szczawnik streams fill with mosses and ferns. Summer brings welcome shade beneath the dense canopy, while autumn sets the park ablaze with gold and crimson. The terrain varies from gentle meadow paths to the steeper sides of gorges, offering something for walkers of every ability.

• Wałbrzych Podzamcze (parking near Książ Castle) — red walking trail, loop through Stary Książ and Szczawnik Gorge back to Podzamcze, difficulty: easy/moderate
• Witoszów — blue trail, entry into the Pełcznica Gorge, difficulty: moderate
• Cis Bolko — green trail leading through Książ Castle to the Stud Farm and on to Świebodzice, difficulty: easy

• The park contains 2 nature reserves: 'Przełomy pod Książem' and 'Jeziorko Daisy' — leaving marked trails is prohibited inside reserves.
• The park borders Książ Castle and the Sudeten Dendrological Garden (arboretum) — worth combining in one visit.
• The park is home to 130 exotic tree species and 126 heritage trees, with 17 natural monuments officially recognised.

Among the natural monuments, the Bolko Yew stands out as one of the most impressive yew trees in the region — a silent witness to centuries of history in the heart of the park.
