Marmurowa Cave is one of the more intriguing caves of the Miętusia Valley in the Western Tatras - a place made for caving enthusiasts rather than casual hikers. It's a genuine labyrinth of shafts and passages descending more than 150 metres underground, accessible only to experienced cavers with proper equipment.

The entrance lies on the slope of Gładkie Upłaziańskie, in the upper part of Kazalnica Miętusia, at an altitude of 1771 metres above sea level, close to Lejbusiowa Cave. Inside, the cave surprises with its raw, vertical character - a typical shaft cave with no dripstone formations, but with its own underground rain falling in the entrance shaft and in the Rain Chamber. A damp, cool microclimate prevails here year-round, regardless of the season on the surface. Bats roost in the cave, so extra care and quiet are essential.

• Exploring the interior requires caving gear (ropes, helmets, lighting) and caving experience
• Bats live in the cave - silence and minimal disturbance are required
• The deepest point (-126 m) and the highest point (+24 m, KKTJ Chimney) are accessible only to experienced explorers

Fun fact: the cave entrance had long been known to local highlanders, but the first cavers only reached the interior in 1960, with further discoveries - such as the KKTJ Chimney and the dig to Kandydat Shaft - continuing into the 1980s.
