Holany Pond is the largest and most famous of the dozens of ponds forming the Holany Pond system in the southern part of the Česká Lípa district. Covering 25 hectares, it's a beautiful spot where the water surface mirrors the baroque Church of St. Mary Magdalene in the nearby village of Holany.

The landscape here is peaceful and scenic, with forested sections along parts of the shoreline. The pond's outflow was carved directly into a sandstone rock that once supported the Rybnov castle. In summer it's a favorite for swimming and fishing, while autumn brings colorful surrounding woods, and winter offers quiet, still water and a calm atmosphere perfect for a slow walk away from the crowds.

• Holany is a crossroads of three roads — to Zahrádky, Blíževedly, and south toward the Kokořínsko area
• Reachable by ČSAD Česká Lípa intercity bus; the nearest train station (line 087) is 3 km away in Zahrádky
• The pond lies just outside the Kokořínsko Protected Landscape Area, which begins just south of Holany

The Holany ponds have been mentioned since 1440, and the system originally counted 23 ponds fed by the Bobří stream — a lasting legacy of medieval water management.
