Hincove oká are a cluster of small, tranquil tarns just south of the Great Hincovo Tarn in the Mengusovská Valley. Tucked away in one of the highest reaches of the valley, this spot rewards hikers with a raw, untamed alpine atmosphere far from the crowds.

The tarns sit in the Hincova Basin, encircled by towering peaks - Kôprovský štít to the west, Čubrina and Veľký Mengusovský štít to the north, and Východný Mengusovský štít, Hincova veža and Mengusovský Volovec to the east. In summer, the still waters mirror the surrounding ridges, and the Hincov potok stream trickles through some of the pools. When water levels rise, the northernmost tarn merges with the Great Hincovo Tarn, forming a small bay from which the stream flows out. Come autumn the basin takes on a golden, silent character, while winter transforms it into a remote and demanding alpine landscape.

The name likely comes from Hinco, a shortened form of Ignác, a shepherd said in local legend to have grazed sheep near the tarn - though another tale speaks of Hinco as a mysterious dwarf who helped miners searching for gold in the Tatra valleys.
