Eibsee is one of Bavaria's most stunning lakes, nestled almost at the foot of the Zugspitze, Germany's highest peak. The lake's name comes from the yew tree (German: Eibe), which once grew abundantly in the surrounding forests and is now rare. It's also worth checking out the neighboring Weitersee, connected to Eibsee by a narrow channel with a small bridge.
