The Czarna Gąsienicowa Valley is one of the most stunning alpine destinations in the Polish Tatra Mountains. The valley has a different magic in every season. In summer, the vivid green meadows frame the dark mirror of Czarny Staw Gąsienicowy lake, while the rocky ridgeline of Świnica closes the skyline in a grand finale. Autumn brings golden hues of dwarf pine and blueberry fields. In winter, the valley transforms into a pristine white landscape beloved by ski tourers. The valley is naturally divided into several levels: the lower Las Gąsienicowy forest, the Czarny Staw cirque, the Zmarzły Staw cirque with the little Kozia valley, and the Kościelcowy cirque. Its dense trail network makes it a true hub for Tatra mountain routes.
