Zbójnicka Turnia is a small but atmospheric rock formation in the Kościeliska Valley, wrapped in legends of robber treasures hidden in its many caves. It's a spot for hikers who want a bit more mystery and history along with their Tatra views.

The turret rises on the western slopes of Gubalec, forming the eastern wall of the Wyżnia Kościeliska Gate, also known as the Raptawicka Gate. Built of dolomite-limestone rock, it drops in a roughly 40-metre escarpment toward the Niżni Zbójnicki Przechod, where its smaller neighbour, Zbójnicka Igła, stands. The landscape is rugged and rocky, riddled with crevices and niches that have long fired the imagination of treasure hunters - marks carved into the walls by past searchers are still visible today. A few specimens of Scots pine also grow here, a rare glacial relict in the Tatras.

• The starting point is near Polana Pisana, about 800 m north of the turret, above Skała Pisana

• The surrounding walls and rocks contain over a dozen caves, including Jaskinia Ziobrowa, Zbójnicka Piwnica, Jaskinia Poszukiwaczy Skarbów and Dziura ze Znakami
• Cave entrances are unsecured - caution is advised near them

According to highland folklore, robbers once lived in the caves of Zbójnicka Turnia, and the treasures they allegedly hid have intrigued adventurers for centuries.
