Yayko-Ilemske (1680 m a.s.l.) is one of the most striking summits of the Western Gorgany range in the Ukrainian Carpathians — an open, egg-shaped dome rising above wild, barely-trodden alpine meadows and dark spruce forests. The reward for reaching the top is a sweeping 360-degree panorama that takes in peaks stretching far into the Carpathian interior.

The summit is fully exposed, scattered with rocky debris fields known as 'hrekhoty'. Below 1600 m the terrain transitions into a belt of mountain pine scrub and spruce forest, with rare surviving groups of Swiss stone pine adding to the wilderness feel. The north-eastern slopes drop away steeply towards the Pravych and Mshana streams, while the north-western and south-eastern ridges offer gentler walking. From the top you can see the entire Arshytsia ridge with Gorgan Ilemsky, the sharp peak of Vysokyi, the flat-topped Ihrovets, and the distant Syvulia. To the south the bulk of Moloda dominates, connected to Yayko-Ilemske by a ridge carrying the summits of Pohanets, Ukernia and Syvanya Lolynska.

• From the village of Myslivky (north) — blue trail along the Svicha river valley, then up the Pravych stream to the Mshana alpine meadow (campsite, water source), continuing via the north-western spur through Dovhe Pole meadow (water, firewood) to the summit — moderate difficulty.
• From the south — black trail from Solotvynka meadow over Syvanya Lolynska, Ukernia and Pohanets — longer and more demanding; the only water source on Solotvynka is far from the main trail.
• Longer northern variant from Myslivky — yellow trail via Maly and Velykyi Pustoshaky and the Nimetska meadow to Gorgan Ilemsky, then black trail down to Mshana meadow.

• The protected nature reserve 'Yayko' lies on the northern slopes — stay on marked trails in this area.
• The hunters' hut on the south-eastern spur burned down in December 2017 and should not be counted on for shelter.
• The red-marked trail from the Svicha valley to the western spur of Pohanets is in poor condition and will not be restored — avoid this route.

The peak's name simply means 'egg' in Ukrainian, a nod to its unmistakable rounded silhouette — a naming tradition shared by several similar dome-shaped summits across the Eastern Carpathians.
