Wielicka Kopa is a modest, low-prominence summit tucked deep in the Granaty Wielickie massif — a spot for those chasing genuine High Tatras wilderness rather than crowded trails. It's one of the last peaks in this massif, belonging to the Granackie Turnie group, the higher of the two sections of the Granaty Wielickie.

The surroundings are rugged and rocky, typical of this remote corner of the Slovak High Tatras. It's separated from the neighboring Dwoista Turnia by the Dwoista Przełęcz saddle, and from the Niedźwiedzie Czuby by the Niedźwiedzia Przełęcz saddle. Views here open onto a maze of towers, ridges and saddles, with no marked trails to ease the way — this is terrain strictly for experienced alpine scramblers moving off the beaten path.

How to reach the summit

• The summit is accessible only to experienced mountaineers — there are no marked hiking trails leading directly to Wielicka Kopa.
• Most commonly visited as a side trip while climbing the nearby Dwoista Turnia, using the Granacka Ławka ledge that runs through the Wyżni Wielicki Przechód gap.

Practical information

• Some maps list an incorrect elevation of 2206 m — this actually refers to a saddle point below the true summit, not Wielicka Kopa itself (2227 m).
• The summit is visited very rarely and requires real climbing experience — it is not a destination for ordinary hikers.

The first known summer ascent of Wielicka Kopa was recorded in 1897, while the first confirmed winter ascent didn't come until 1909 — a reminder of how long this modest peak stayed overlooked in the shadow of its more dramatic neighbors.
