Urbanowe Turnie is a group of five striking rocky towers hidden along a side ridge of the High Tatras, close to Little Gerlach Peak. This is a place for true alpinists — there are no marked trails here, only a wild, rocky ridge steeped in the legends of early hunters and mountain guides.

The ridge of Urbanowe Turnie stretches between the saddle below Little Gerlach and Urbanowa Czuba, separated by Urbanowa Szczerbina notch. The towers have no individual names — they're simply numbered I through V, with the highest and still unmeasured being Urbanowa Turnia V. Between the summits lie distinctive dips known as the Outer, Middle and Rear Urbanowa Ledges, plus Urbanowa Saddle. It's a raw, rocky landscape with breathtaking views of the Gerlach massif and surrounding ridges, especially stunning in morning light. In summer the rocks warm up nicely for demanding but rewarding scrambling, while in winter the terrain turns snowy and genuinely hazardous — strictly for experienced mountaineers with proper equipment.

The name honors Martin Spitzkopf-Urban, a Spiš hunter and miller who in 1834 made the first ascent of Gerlach's main summit. The first tourist traverse of all five towers wasn't completed until 1930, by Wincenty Birkenmajer, Jan Kazimierz Dorawski, and Jan Alfred Szczepański.
