Ungarjaska (1707 m a.s.l.) is a rewarding summit in the western part of the Svydovets massif in the Ukrainian Carpathians. It sits right on one of the most celebrated ridge trails in the region, offering hikers open alpine meadows and sweeping mountain panoramas.

The lower slopes up to about 1400 m are covered in coniferous and beech forests, giving way to wide-open polonyny — the traditional Carpathian highland pastures — as you gain elevation. The north-eastern and north-western flanks are steep, while the western and eastern sides slope more gently. Close neighbours include Mala Kurtiaska (1644 m) to the west, Troiaska (1702 m) to the east, and Dogiaska (1761 m) to the south-east.

• Yasinia — the 'Ridge of Svydovets' long-distance trail heading towards Ust-Chorna — moderate to demanding, multi-day route across the full massif.
• Ust-Chorna — the same trail approached from the opposite direction, starting from the south side of the range.

• Ungarjaska is a waypoint on the popular 'Ridges of Svydovets' route connecting Yasinia and Ust-Chorna — best experienced as part of a multi-day traverse.
• Nearest settlements are Chorna Tysa, Ust-Chorna and Krasna, all useful as start points or supply stops.

The Svydovets range is sometimes nicknamed the 'little Alps of Ukraine', and the ridge walk through Ungarjaska is a fine way to understand why.
