Turícka Magura (1085 m a.s.l.) is the kind of summit that rewards the curious — bypassed by marked trails, almost always peaceful, and genuinely off the beaten track. If you enjoy a bit of adventure and don't mind navigating without waymarkers, this peak in the western Chočské vrchy mountains of Slovakia is a hidden gem worth seeking out.

The massif rises along a ridge running south-east from Malý Choc, separated from it by the broad saddle of Žimerová pass. The slopes are generally steep, and the domed summit is almost entirely forested — but from several small clearings, you are rewarded with striking views of the rocky cliffs of Malý Choc and Veľký Choc. These viewpoints are especially atmospheric in spring and autumn. Beneath the summit, the Jurassic and Triassic limestones hide a few small caves, a testament to the fascinating geology of a massif built from Lower Cretaceous marls and older limestone layers.
