Súšava (1,077 m a.s.l.) is a quiet, forested peak in the Skorušinské vrchy mountains, hiding a wonderful surprise near its summit — a lookout tower offering sweeping views across the Western Carpathians. If you enjoy peaceful woodland trails that reward you with a proper panorama, this is your kind of place.
The peak sits on a ridge running between Diel (1,051 m) and the dominant Kopec (1,251 m), rising above the village of Veľké Borové. The summit itself is densely forested, limiting views — but the lookout tower just south of the top more than makes up for it. On a clear day you can spot the Western and Low Tatras, the Malá and Veľká Fatra ranges, Oravská Magura and the Orava Beskydy. The landscape is beautiful in every season, from fresh spring greenery to golden autumn colours.

Practical information
Súšava straddles the boundary between two districts — Dolný Kubín and Liptovský Mikuláš — and serves as a subtle watershed: the northern slopes drain into the Orava river, while the southern ones flow into the Váh basin.
