Strelecká veža (2130 m a.s.l.) is a peak of two faces — seen from below it looks bold and massive, but once you reach the top it feels surprisingly modest. This isolated rock tower standing in the middle of Veľká Studená dolina (Great Cold Valley) is a genuine geological curiosity: a nunatak, a rocky formation that once jutted alone above an ancient glacier.

The surroundings are wonderfully varied. To the south and east, steep climbing walls drop sharply away, while to the north the summit transitions gently into the rocky plains of Strelecké polia. Just to the east, the Strelecké tarns glitter in the sheltered Strelecká basin. The summit offers a satisfying 360-degree panorama across the Great Cold Valley and the High Tatra ridgelines. It is a rewarding spot in every season — vibrant and green in summer, golden in autumn, and deeply quiet under winter snow.

• The approach via the unmarked path from Strelecké polia is officially not permitted — check current TANAP national park regulations before your visit.
• The south and east faces are popular with rock climbers; the legendary alpinist A. Puškáš alone completed 6 first ascents on these walls.

The name 'Strelecká' — meaning 'the shooter's' — is a nod to the poachers and chamois hunters who once roamed these slopes, leaving their mark on the valley's name long before the first climbers arrived.
