Scheiber Spitzberg is a small but remarkably charming peak in the Eastern Upper Lusatia region, known for its surprisingly rich flora atop a modest summit. It's a great pick for a relaxed afternoon walk with rewarding views over the Mandau valley.

The mountain forms the northern foothill of the Scheibeberg and rises steeply above the Roschertal valley, carved out by the Mandau river. Across the valley to the north stands the Butterberg. The summit itself has real character - its dome is covered in a species-rich dry grassland, while a small deciduous woodland spreads across the north-eastern and eastern slopes. In spring and summer the meadow bursts into bloom, and in autumn the surrounding forests turn golden.

This is the only known site of large speedwell (Veronica teucrium) in the whole Zittau region - keep an eye on the ground, you might spot this rare botanical gem.
