Sasanka (964.9 m a.s.l.) is a quiet, forest-covered summit in the Bystrzyckie Mountains, nestled within the massif of Jagodna — the highest peak of the range. If you love the atmosphere of dense Sudeten spruce forests and peaceful hiking away from the crowds, this is a place worth discovering.

The summit is built from erosion-resistant granitogneisses and blanketed in spruce forest with a sprinkling of deciduous trees, giving it a classic Sudeten feel. The eastern slope is flanked by the scenic Sudeten Highway ('Autostrada Sudecka'), a historic mountain road that adds a unique character to the area. In autumn the hillsides glow with colour, while winter brings a hushed, snow-laden beauty to the forest trails.

• From Przełęcz Spalona (Burnt Pass) — blue trail, continuing over Sasanka to Jagodna (985 m) and on to Przełęcz nad Porębą; difficulty: easy to moderate.

• The blue hiking trail crossing the summit links Przełęcz Spalona with Jagodna, the highest peak in the Bystrzyckie Mountains — making Sasanka a natural waypoint on a longer ridge walk.
• Note: the name 'Sasanka' is sometimes mistakenly applied to the northern peak of Jagodna — always check your map before setting out.

The old German name for this summit was Stephansberg, after a long-vanished hamlet called Szczepków that once belonged to the village of Wyszki — a small piece of forgotten history hiding in the hills.
