Rykowisko (948 m a.s.l.) is a quiet, forest-clad summit in the Śnieżnik Massif of the Polish Sudetes — the kind of place that rewards those who enjoy peaceful hiking away from the crowds. What makes it truly special is its position right on the European watershed: rain falling here drains either to the Baltic or the Black Sea.

The broad, flat summit is entirely covered by lower montane spruce forest, so don't expect sweeping views from the top — the pleasure here is in the journey. The ridge runs along the Polish-Czech border, and the surrounding forest shifts beautifully with the seasons: fragrant and bright in spring, wrapped in mist and silence in autumn, and blanketed in snow and frost in winter.
