Rohacz Ostry (2088 m a.s.l.) is one of the most striking summits in the Western Tatras — a sharp, double-topped granite peak that gave its name to the entire Rohace group of mountains. Expect exposed ridgeline walking, fixed chains on the steepest sections, and sweeping views that reward every bit of effort.

The peak sits in the main ridge of the Western Tatras, squeezed between Volovec (2063 m) to the north and Plačlivé (2125 m) to the west. The summit area is built of granite, while the northern walls and gullies tend to be friable — watch your footing. From the top you get a full circular panorama: the surrounding Western Tatra peaks, the Roháče and Jamnícke lakes glittering in the valleys below, and on clear days the Orava Beskids and the Low Tatras on the horizon. The area is part of the Tatra National Park, keeping it refreshingly wild and uncrowded compared to the High Tatras.

Rohacz Ostry is the peak that lent its name to the whole Rohace section of the Western Tatras — a corner of the mountains that feels genuinely wild and far from the tourist crowds.
