Repisko (1,259 m a.s.l.) is the highest peak of the Spišská Magura range — a quietly rewarding summit that sits in the shadow of the famous Tatras yet offers something those crowded giants rarely can: genuine solitude and sweeping, unobstructed views.

The peak stands on the south-western edge of the Spišská Magura, roughly 4 km north-west of the village of Ždiar and right on the border of the Tatra National Park. Much of the massif is open and deforested, which makes for wonderfully airy terrain — you feel the space around you with every step. On a clear day the panorama stretches across the Belianske Tatras and part of the High Tatras, and in ideal conditions you can even spot the Levoča Hills, Pilsko and Babia Hora far to the west. The very summit is partially wooded, so the finest views reward you during the approach rather than at the top itself. Spring and summer bring lush green slopes, while autumn transforms the hillsides into warm amber and gold — arguably the best season to visit.

• Saddle Pod Príslopom (via Príslop) — no marked trail; this is the easiest and most straightforward ascent route; difficulty: moderate.

• There is no marked hiking trail leading to the summit — good navigation skills and map are essential.
• The summit ridge marks the boundary of the Tatra National Park and the buffer zone of the Pieniny National Park.
