Zmrzlá veža (Modra Turnia) is one of those High Tatras peaks that doesn't shout for attention, yet quietly rewards those who venture into the main ridge of the range. Its cone-shaped dome, modest next to the neighbouring Kolový štít and Belasá veža, still has a distinctive character worth discovering.

The peak sits in the Slovak part of the High Tatras, between Kolový štít and Belasá veža, separated from them by Kolová štrbina and the Zmrzlé sedlo saddle. Its northern and western slopes plunge steeply into two branches of Kolová dolina, creating a rugged, rocky-grassy landscape far from crowds. On the south-eastern side it towers above Jastrabia dolina, where its most interesting climbing wall, roughly 150 metres high, awaits experienced mountaineers. This is a spot for those craving solitude and raw alpine atmosphere.

The peak's Polish name derives from the nearby Modry Stawek tarn in Dolina Jagnięca. It was first climbed in summer 1900, while the first winter ascent came in December 1911.
