Meškalka (1,536 m a.s.l.) is a rewarding off-the-beaten-path summit in the central part of Krivánska Malá Fatra, nestled in the massif of Malý Kriváň. With no marked trail leading to the top, it offers a genuine sense of adventure and solitude that most nearby peaks simply cannot match.

The summit is partially covered with dwarf pine, which limits views in some directions but adds to the wild character of the place. Where the vegetation opens up, the panorama is spectacular: to the southwest you see the main ridge of Krivánska Fatra and the Turiec Basin with Martinské hole. On clear days the Low Tatras, Veľká Fatra and Vtáčnik appear on the horizon, while above the lower ridgelines you can spot the Súľov Rocks, Javorníky, Kysuce Highlands and the thousand-metre summits of the Moravian-Silesian Beskids. The northeastern skyline is dominated by the imposing bulk of Malý Kriváň (1,671 m). Each season brings its own mood — spring snowfields, summer green, and brilliant autumn colours make every visit feel different.

• From Sučany via Sučianska dolina valley — follow the marked trail towards Malý Kriváň, then leave the trail at the Meškalka saddle and ascend to the summit; difficulty: moderate
• From the summit of Malý Kriváň (1,671 m a.s.l.) — descend along the ridge to the Meškalka saddle and continue to the top; difficulty: moderate

• There is no marked hiking trail to the summit — access is only via an unmarked branch from the saddle of Meškalka, situated on the route to Malý Kriváň.

Meškalka sits on a lateral ridge that continues southward to Ostredok (1,370 m) and Veľká Kráľová (1,174 m), making it a great starting point for a longer ridge walk through the quieter corners of Malá Fatra.
