Mały Murań (1,356 m a.s.l.), also known by its Slovak name Kôň ('Horse'), is a quiet, forested peak at the north-western end of the main Belianske Tatry ridge. Tucked above the village of Tatranská Javorina, it is one of those summits that rewards curiosity rather than ambition — wild, protected, and refreshingly off the beaten track.

The summit is draped in patchy forest that parts just enough to offer glimpses of the surrounding ridges. From the top, you can take in the peaks of the Belianske Tatry main ridge, many summits of the High Tatras, the western part of the Spišská Magura plateau, the Orava Beskyds with Babia Hora and Pilsko, and the borderland hills of southern Poland. The area drains into the Dunajec river basin — the Javorinka stream carries water from the southern and western slopes, while its tributary Kýčerný potok collects runoff from the north.

• There are no marked hiking trails leading to the summit of Mały Murań.

• The peak lies within the Tatra National Park and the Belianske Tatry National Nature Reserve. Access is officially restricted for visitors, as is the case with all summits in this section of the Tatras.

The dual identity of this peak is part of its charm — Slovaks call it 'Kôň' (Horse), while the Polish name 'Mały Murań' links it to the nearby peak Murań (1,890 m). Two names, one quietly untouched mountain.
