Mały Kopieniec is one of those Tatra peaks that hardly anyone talks about — and that's exactly its charm. A forgotten, fully forested summit in the Chochołowska Valley, untouched by crowds simply because no marked trail leads there.

The peak rises on the extension of the Kulawiec ridge, which branches off from Trzydniowiański Wierch heading north. It's separated from Kulawiec by a small saddle called Wyżni Kopieńcowy Przechód. To the north, it neighbors the lower but more prominent Wielki Kopieniec, the two being divided by the Kopieńcowy Przechód pass. The eastern slopes of Mały Kopieniec descend into the lower part of the Starorobociańska Valley, while the western slopes drop into the wild Krowiniec gully (also known as Krowi Żleb). The entire summit is cloaked in dense subalpine forest, meaning there are no scenic clearings or panoramic views here — this is a spot for those who appreciate quiet woodland and untouched corners of the Western Tatras.
