Mała Wysoka (2429 m a.s.l.) is a broad rocky pyramid in the main ridge of the High Tatras — and one of the rare peaks here that you can actually reach via a marked trail. That alone makes it a genuine highlight for anyone exploring the Slovak side of the Tatras.

The summit rewards hikers with a sweeping 360-degree panorama: the giants of the High Tatras stretch out in every direction, from Gerlach to Rysy, with the Belianske Tatry ridge to the north-east and, on clear days, distant ranges in southern Poland and northern Hungary. The terrain is rocky and dramatic — steep walls plunge towards the Great Cold Valley to the east and the Velická Valley to the south-west. In summer the granite shines silver in the sun; in autumn the valleys below glow with warm colours; in spring snowfields linger well into the season.

• The peak lies entirely within Tatra National Park — hiking is permitted on marked trails only.
• The summit is the meeting point of three national nature reserves: Bielovodská Valley, Velická Valley and Studené Valleys.
• The steepest sections of the yellow trail from Poľský hrebeň saddle are secured with chains.
• Two mountain huts are nearby: Sliezsky dom to the south and Zbojnícka chata to the east.

The trail from Poľský hrebeň to the summit was built as far back as 1892, making this one of the oldest marked hiking routes in the High Tatras — a classic well worth following today.
