Łubiec (565 m a.s.l.) is the highest point of the Wyszkowski Ridge in the Bystrzyckie Mountains — a quiet, forest-covered summit that stays well off the beaten track and rewards those who seek genuine Sudeten wilderness. If you enjoy discovering places where the crowds never go, this little peak is calling your name.

The massif is built from tough, weathering-resistant gneisses that give it steep, compact flanks. The western, northern and eastern slopes drop sharply — the eastern side falls steeply towards the Upper Nysa Trench, while the Toczna stream curves around the northern foot of the hill. Almost the entire mountain is blanketed in lower-montane spruce forest mixed with birch and beech, creating a cool green tunnel in summer and a blaze of gold and amber in autumn. In winter, snow lingers long on the steep slopes, making it a wonderfully atmospheric place for a snow-shoe outing.

The summit lies just about 2 km south-west of the town of Bystrzyca Kłodzka, and the village of Wyszki sits at the western foot of the hill.

• Toczna Valley (from Bystrzyca Kłodzka) — a green-marked hiking trail runs along the northern foot of the hill, connecting Bystrzyca Kłodzka with Przełęcz Spalona pass; the summit itself has no marked trail, so reaching the top requires leaving the path and hiking through the forest.

• No marked trails lead to the actual summit — reaching the top is an off-trail adventure; bring a detailed map and compass or GPS device.
• The green trail in the Toczna Valley on the northern side of the hill is the best starting point for an ascent.

The old German name of the peak — Kliegel Koppe — is a quiet reminder of the centuries-long Silesian-Bohemian border history that still lingers in this peaceful corner of the Central Sudetes.
