Kuczaba (651 m a.s.l.) is a peaceful, forest-covered summit in the Sowie Mountains (Góry Sowie) of Lower Silesia — a quiet gem that rewards walkers with pleasant views and a genuine sense of getting away from it all. It is a perfect destination for a half-day hike without the crowds.

The peak rises from a lateral ridge branching northward from the main Sowie Mountains crest, between Wigancicka Polana and the Woliborska Pass. The massif is built of Precambrian gneisses and migmatites with amphibolite lenses — ancient rocks hundreds of millions of years old. Dense forest covers the hillsides, offering welcome shade in summer, vivid colours in autumn, and a hushed, snowy atmosphere in winter. From the summit you get views in two directions: towards the town of Bielawa on one side and the Woliborska Pass on the other.

Kuczaba sits on the edge of Dzierżoniów County, right on the border with Ząbkowice County, near the village of Jodłownik, from which a forest path leads directly to the top.

The peak was historically known in German as 'Hocke' — a reminder of the Sowie Mountains' rich, multi-cultural past shared across many generations.
