Kraviarske (1,361 m a.s.l.) is a grassy, open-topped summit in the Malá Fatra mountains of Slovakia, sitting on a side ridge of the Krivánska Fatra range just 4 km south of the village of Terchová. What makes it stand out is simple: a treeless, meadow-covered top that delivers a full 360-degree panorama without a single branch getting in the way.

While the slopes are forested, the ridge and summit are open grassland, creating a wonderfully airy atmosphere. To the south and east, the higher main ridge of Krivánska Fatra fills the skyline — Koniarky (1,535 m) and Pekelník (1,609 m) are the dominant neighbours. Turn north or west and the view stretches far across the Žilina Basin, the Kysuce Highlands and the Kysuce Beskydy range. On clear days, the distant outlines of the Javorníky, Moravian-Silesian Beskydy, Silesian Beskydy and Orava Beskydy appear on the horizon — a truly rewarding panorama for a relatively modest elevation.

Terchová, the nearest village, is the birthplace of Juraj Jánošík — the legendary Slovak outlaw often called the 'Slovak Robin Hood'. These very mountains were his domain, and that spirit of adventure still feels very much alive on the ridges above Vrátna.
