Kozí kameň (1,256 m a.s.l.) is the highest peak of the Kozie chrbty range in central Slovakia — a rewarding summit that punches well above its weight when it comes to views. Sitting just 8 km southwest of Poprad, it is surprisingly easy to reach yet feels genuinely wild on top.

The summit ridge is largely open and treeless, meaning the scenery unfolds long before you reach the top. On a clear day you can see both the High Tatras and the Low Tatras stretching across the horizon, and in exceptional visibility the Levočské vrchy hills, the Branisko ridge, the Volovské vrchy and the distant outline of Veľký Choč also come into view. The peak sits precisely on the continental divide between the Black Sea and Baltic Sea watersheds — water falling on the northern slopes eventually reaches the Baltic via the Poprad river, while water on the southern side drains into the Hornád and onward to the Black Sea. In summer the open grassy ridgeline is ideal for relaxed walking; in autumn the surrounding forests turn vivid shades of gold and copper.
