Kanasiówka (823 m a.s.l.), also known as Baba, is a quiet, forested summit in the eastern part of the Beskid Niski range — off the beaten track and wonderfully unspoiled. Sitting just north of the Polish-Slovak border, it offers a genuine taste of wild Carpathian nature.

The summit plateau is broad and flat, stretching along a north-south axis — a shape that inspired the old local name 'Baba' (meaning an old woman or a broad figure). The western slopes are gentle and occasionally marshy, while the eastern and southern sides drop more steeply into a network of small stream valleys. The whole peak lies within the Jaśliska Landscape Park, and most of its Polish slopes are also protected as the Źródliska Jasiołki nature reserve. Dense beech and fir forests cover the mountain year-round, blazing with colour in autumn and alive with rare birdcalls in spring.

• The summit sits approximately 400 m north of the Polish-Slovak state border — all described trails remain on the Polish side, but keep this in mind when planning extensions.

Kanasiówka is the source of two important rivers of the Beskid Niski: the Jasiołka rises on its western slopes and the Wisłok on its eastern slopes — making this unassuming wooded hill the birthplace of two entirely separate river systems.
