Javorový vrch (1,076 m a.s.l.) is a pleasant wooded summit in the Oravská Magura range, rising just a few kilometres west of the town of Tvrdošín. It is a great choice for a half-day hike directly from town — accessible, rewarding and full of quiet mountain charm.

The summit itself is covered in forest, offering only limited views from the very top, but the slopes are dotted with open mountain meadows where the scenery opens up beautifully. On clear days you can see the Orava Beskyds, Veľká Fatra, the Choč Hills, Skorušinské vrchy and the Western Tatras. The area feels fresh and uncrowded in all seasons — lush and green in summer, brilliantly coloured in autumn, and peacefully snow-covered in winter.

• Námestovo — blue trail via Magurka and the Priehyby saddle, from the north, difficulty: moderate
• Štefanov nad Oravou — green trail via the Priehyby saddle, difficulty: easy/moderate

The summit sits at the meeting point of two cadastral areas — Tvrdošín and the village of Štefanov nad Oravou — and is connected by a ridge trail to the higher Budín peak (1,221 m), making it easy to extend your hike for a more ambitious day out in the Oravská Magura.
