Hromové (1,636 m a.s.l.) is the fourth highest peak in the Malá Fatra mountains — a rocky, meadow-clad summit sitting in the main ridge of Krivánska Fatra, roughly 6 km south of Terchová. It may not look dramatic from the ridge, but step onto its limestone crags and you are rewarded with one of the finest 360-degree panoramas in the whole range.

The summit combines exposed limestone rocks with rich calcareous and alpine vegetation, making it a treat for both hikers and nature lovers. Views open up in almost every direction — only the west is partly blocked by the imposing Veľký Kriváň. On a clear day you can see the Žilina and Turiec basins, the Chočské vrchy hills, the Kysuce Highlands, and on the horizon the Western and Low Tatras, Veľká Fatra, and the border ridges of the Beskydy. The slopes descending towards Vrátna Valley carry avalanche risk in late winter and spring. The International Long-Distance Trail E3 passes directly over the summit.

• The summit lies within Malá Fatra National Park — national park regulations apply throughout.
• The northern and western slopes are protected as the Chleb National Nature Reserve.
• Slopes facing Vrátna Valley are avalanche-prone — take extra care in spring.

A precise GNSS/RTK survey carried out in 2017 confirmed the summit elevation as 1,636.61 m, correcting the previously used figure of 1,636.2 m — proof that even well-known peaks can still hold small surprises.
