Gawlik is a modest but charming summit in the Śnieżnik Massif, tucked away under a thick spruce canopy and rarely crowded with hikers. It's a great pick for travelers who want a peaceful walk off the beaten path within the Śnieżnik Landscape Park.

The peak rises above the valley of the Goworówka River, near the point where it meets the Widlica stream, in a side ridge of the massif branching off from Goworek. To the north, it is separated from the surrounding terrain by the valley of the Nowinka stream. The summit and slopes are entirely covered by a lower montane spruce forest, offering cool shade in summer and a quiet, snow-hushed atmosphere in winter. Near the base of the mountain, numerous outcrops of gneiss rock are visible above the road, hinting at the deep geological history of this part of the Sudetes.

How to reach the summit

• Approach from the Goworówka valley or from the Goworek side — the route runs through lower montane spruce forest; time and difficulty depend on the chosen approach

Gawlik is built of gneiss rocks belonging to the Lądek-Śnieżnik metamorphic complex, a geological detail you can spot directly at the rocky outcrops near the foot of the mountain.
