Cubryńska Kazalnica is a massive rock wall in the Cubryna massif above Morskie Oko, well known among climbers as one of the more interesting climbing objectives in the Polish High Tatras. This is not a place for ordinary hikers - it's a terrain reserved for climbers seeking demanding, multi-hour routes in a wild, rocky setting.

The wall drops down to the Kosowinowy Piarg scree slope and Ucho, with a height measured from base to summit reaching up to 340 meters, although the wall face itself never exceeds 260 m. The upper surface of the formation is an almost horizontal ridge section, a dozen or so meters long. The character of the wall varies - the left side, facing northeast, is gentler and partly overgrown with dwarf pine, while the right side, facing north, hides huge smooth slabs and overhangs that make a striking impression, especially on sunny summer days. Swiss stone pines grow here and there on ledges and cornices, adding a touch of life to this rugged place. In winter, the wall becomes terrain strictly for the most experienced and well-equipped climbers.

How to reach the summit

• Approach leads from Morskie Oko, through the climbing terrain of the Cubryna massif - the approach requires experience and orientation in high-mountain terrain, demanding route
• A descent is possible from Niżni Cubryński Przechód (6-8 rope descents)

Practical information

• Terrain accessible only to climbers, with numerous climbing routes of varying difficulty
• Some routes require bivouacking on the wall
• Notable rock formations on the wall include Biała Płyta, Cygaro, Sopel and Komin Kaskaderów

Jacek Czyż, author of the monograph on Turnia Zwornikowa, contributed significantly to naming the wall's features - thanks to him, many rock details of Cubryńska Kazalnica carry their own colorful names.
