Cieślar (918 m a.s.l.) is a wonderfully open summit in the Silesian Beskids that delivers a near-360-degree panorama and the rare thrill of standing right on the Polish-Czech border. Covered in wide mountain meadows, it feels spacious and bright — a refreshing contrast to the forested ridges around it.

The peak sits in the main ridge of the Stożek and Czantoria Range, tucked between Wielki Soszów to the north and Mały Stożek to the south. Because the slopes are dotted with clearings and meadows, the views open up long before you reach the top — you can take in the full sweep of the Silesian Beskids and the southern reaches of the Moravian-Silesian Beskids. In spring the meadows are vividly green, summer brings warm sunshine perfect for a long rest at the top, and in winter the snow-dusted summit takes on a quiet, fairy-tale atmosphere.

The name 'Cieślar' comes from a local family surname — as early as 1621, just after the village of Wisła was founded, four families named Cieślar were already recorded there, and it remains one of the most common surnames in Wisła to this day.
