Čierny vrch (1,054 m) is a quiet, off-the-beaten-path summit in the Belianske Tatry (Belan Tatras), rising above the small settlement of Tatranská Kotlina on the eastern edge of the Tatra range. It offers a genuinely wild atmosphere — no marked trails, no crowds, just forest, clearings and sweeping mountain views.

The summit is draped in a patchy woodland broken by open clearings that reward you with fine panoramas of the main Belianske Tatry ridge, the Spišská Magura highlands, the Levoča and Volovské Hills, and the Poprad Basin stretching to the south. In summer the forest provides cool shade; in autumn the hillsides turn vivid shades of gold and amber; in winter the silence here is total. The nearest villages are Ždiar to the north and Tatranská Kotlina to the southeast.

• There is no marked hiking trail leading to Čierny vrch. Access from Tatranská Kotlina or Ždiar is possible for experienced hikers with good navigation skills, but it is not officially recommended by the park authorities.

• Čierny vrch lies within Tatra National Park (TANAP) — park regulations apply throughout the area.
• The peak sits outside the strictly protected Belianske Tatry National Nature Reserve, but the absence of a marked trail means a visit is discouraged by park management.
• There are no mountain huts, shelters or any tourist facilities on or near the summit.

Hydrologically, the mountain belongs to the Poprad river catchment — its northern slopes drain via Babí potok stream, while southern slopes feed an unnamed brook. A small but charming detail of this overlooked Tatra corner.
