Budín (1,221 m a.s.l.) is the highest peak of the Budín sub-unit within the Oravská Magura mountain range, rising above the quiet village of Lokca just 7 km west of Tvrdošín. It sits at the heart of a powerful forested ridge that stretches from the Príslop saddle all the way to the shores of the Orava Reservoir — a rewarding destination for hikers who love unspoiled Carpathian woodland and sweeping mountain views.

The summit and ridge are draped in dense forest, creating a cool, shaded atmosphere perfect for summer hiking. While the treetops limit views from the very top, the south-eastern mountain meadows more than compensate — from here you can take in a magnificent eastward panorama stretching across the peaks of Oravská Magura, the Orava, Kysuce and Silesian Beskydy ranges, Veľká Fatra, the Choč Hills, and on clear days the Low and High Tatras. Autumn brings a stunning display of colour along the ridge, and in winter the trails offer peaceful routes for snowshoers and cross-country skiers.
