Korozluky Chateau is a neoclassical mansion perched on the southern slope of Jánský vrch, just above the village of Korozluky. Its story is one of dramatic decline and remarkable rebirth - from a medieval fortress, through a baroque manor, all the way to a roofless ruin rescued from demolition by a determined architect.

The chateau is surrounded by a charming park with a rotunda-shaped Chapel of St. Joseph, and nearby lies the protected Jánský vrch nature reserve, known for its heat-loving and drought-tolerant steppe vegetation. The surrounding hills of the Most region offer lovely views, especially beautiful in spring and autumn when the park bursts into color, while summer brings welcome shade from old trees. In winter the neoclassical building stands out strikingly against the snowy landscape.

How to get there

• From the village of Korozluky - a short walk along a local road, about 15-20 minutes, easy route
• From the Most area - accessible by car or bike via local roads, followed by a short walk to the chateau

• Open to visitors by prior arrangement with the owner
• Ground floor houses an exhibition of sacred art from old Most churches, upper floor shows period interiors from the 18th and 19th centuries
• Protected as a cultural monument since 1987

Interesting fact - the chateau was rebuilt by architect Miroslav Perout, who received it in 1994 as restitution compensation for a toy factory in Mělník, and personally brought it back from complete ruin.
