The Gersdorf Ruin is a small, atmospheric structure hidden in the Cottaer Busch forest, once the historic borderland between Meissen and Bohemia. Built as an artificial ruin nearly two centuries ago, it has slowly blended into nature, offering a quiet escape for hikers curious about hidden corners of the woods.

The structure resembles a round, roughly 5-metre-high broken castle tower. Inside, a half-open chamber vaulted with sandstone blocks conceals an old hidden fireplace, a reminder of its original use as a hunting shelter. The surrounding forest is dense and mixed, peaceful in every season - frosty and silent in winter, shady and cool in summer. A viewing platform once crowned the ruin, offering views over the countryside, but it has long since collapsed and the outlook is now swallowed by trees, giving the place an even more mysterious, forgotten feel.

• Berggießhübel — forest trail, approx. 30-40 minutes, easy route
• Gersdorf (Bahretal municipality) — shorter approach from the village side, easy terrain
