The Vogtland-Panorama-Weg is a 3.4 km section of the famous 228 km circular long-distance trail winding through the Vogtlandkreis region of Saxony - a route celebrated for its 280 landscape changes and 82 panoramic viewpoints, which gave the whole trail its name. In 2005 it became the first trail in eastern Germany to receive the Wanderbares Deutschland quality seal, and this short stretch offers a great taste of what makes the full route so beloved.
This portion of the trail leads through the gentle, rolling countryside typical of the Vogtland region, passing through forest and along river valleys with occasional open views across the landscape. The trail is marked with the colour #d69e2e, though longer stretches of the full route also share markings with other regional paths, including the blue-striped Vogtland-Weg and the red-striped Eisenach-Budapest trail. Thanks to the dense network of paths in this area, it's easy to extend or shorten your walk as you please.
