Kögler's Nature Trail is the oldest natural history educational trail in the Czech Republic - a circular route of about 22 km winding through the finest corners of Bohemian Switzerland. It's a journey through geology, local history and striking sandstone scenery.

The trail starts and ends in Krásná Lípa, behind the Bohemian Switzerland House. Marked with the colour #38a169, it leads through the town park towards Kamenná Horka, then turns south to the Vápenka nature reserve. From there it follows the original 1940s route through the Kyjov settlement, past sandstone rocks with the Kyjov Castle ruin, down into the scenic Kyjovské údolí valley along the Křinice stream, then north beneath Kamenný vrch to Vlčí Hora with its lookout tower. The return leg passes through Zahrady, Sněžná and the Krásný Buk castle ruin back to Krásná Lípa.

• Moderate difficulty - long but without technical sections, suitable for reasonably fit hikers
• Forest paths, sandstone rock formations, river valleys and gentle hills; part of the route runs through the Bohemian Switzerland National Park

Fun fact: the trail was created in the 1940s by Rudolf Kögler, who built a unique relief geological map from local rocks on his own property - it is still part of the trail today and is listed as a cultural monument.
