This cross-border pilgrim trail links Bavaria and Tyrol, winding through scenic river valleys, historic monasteries and alpine passes. It's a wonderful choice for anyone wanting to combine a spiritual journey with genuine alpine scenery.
Marked in #3182ce, the trail begins at Schäftlarn Abbey and heads south, passing Beuerberg Abbey where it connects with the Southeast Bavarian Way of St. James. The route climbs over the Kesselberg pass, rising from around 600-700 m above sea level to roughly 800 m, then descends into the high valley near Leutasch at about 1100 m. From there the path drops down into the Inn Valley at around 600 m, finishing at Mötz, where it joins the Tyrolean Way of St. James. Along the way, hikers pass through forests, meadows and enjoy views of the surrounding Alps.

Practical information
The trail was developed by an association founded in 2009 and officially opened in 2010 with support from European Union funding - a relatively young but important link between two major pilgrim route networks.
