Útulňa Andrejcová is a charming log shelter perched on the main ridge of the Kráľova Hoľa section of the Low Tatras, at an elevation of 1,410 m. It is one of those rare mountain refuges that feels genuinely wild and welcoming at the same time — simple, honest, and perfectly placed for anyone traversing this beautiful ridge. Whether you are a seasoned ridge-walker or just looking for a taste of authentic Slovak mountain life, this hut will not disappoint.

The shelter sits in a saddle just below the peak of Andrejcová (1,520 m), surrounded by open alpine meadows and forest typical of the eastern Low Tatras. In summer the views across the rolling ridge are stunning, in autumn the hillsides burn with colour, and in winter the hut offers a rare cosy refuge in a snow-covered mountain silence. The atmosphere is wonderfully unpretentious — log walls, the smell of wood, and the sound of wind over the ridge.
