The mountain hut at Morskie Oko is one of the most iconic spots in the entire Tatra Mountains — a place that has been welcoming hikers for nearly two centuries. Sitting at 1,410 m above sea level on a glacial moraine ridge, it overlooks the most famous alpine lake in Poland, framed by the dramatic walls of the Mięguszowieckie Peaks. Whether you are here for a day trip or planning to summit Rysy, this hut is the perfect basecamp.

The scenery around the hut is stunning in every season. In summer the lake glows a deep blue and the trails buzz with energy. Come autumn, the crowds thin out and the surrounding forests turn golden. The interior of the hut is warm and welcoming — wooden beams, hearty food, and the hum of happy hikers after a long day on the trail. The hut consists of two parts: the 'New Hut' built in 1908 and the 'Old Hut', which is actually a former carriage house that survived a fire in 1898 and is today the oldest surviving hut in the Polish Tatras.
