Ruška koča, also known as Tinetov dom pri Arehu, is a mountain hut in the Pohorje range, sitting at 1246 m above sea level. It's a place with real character and a story worth knowing, offering a welcoming stop after a day on the trail.
The Areh area is classic Pohorje scenery - gentle, forested hills, peaceful woods, and proper snowy winters. In summer it's a great destination for family hikes, in autumn the Pohorje forests turn golden, and year-round the hut serves as a cozy base for exploring nearby peaks and natural attractions.
How to get to the hut
Practical information
The current building was constructed in 1946 on the foundations of the burned-down Planinka hut - the whole former mountain settlement, with three huts and a church, was torched by partisans on the night of 11-12 November 1943 to deny the enemy shelter.
