The Peter-Anich-Hütte is a Category I mountain hut sitting at 1909 m above sea level, on the northern edge of the Stubai Alps southeast of Rietz. Perched on the ridge running north from the Bachwandkopf, above the Untere Seewenalm, this hut offers a quiet base for exploring the surrounding peaks and passes.

The setting is classic northern Stubai Alps terrain — open alpine pastures, rocky ridgelines and sweeping views toward neighboring valleys. In summer it makes an excellent starting point for tackling peaks like the Bachwandkopf and Rietzer Grießkogel, while in autumn the surrounding slopes take on a peaceful, golden character. The hut is named after the famous Tyrolean surveyor and cartographer Peter Anich (1723–1766).

Originally built in 1884/85 from cirrus pine wood by the Austrian Touring Club, the hut has a colorful history, including a period of decline, restoration, and a dispute with the municipality of Rietz over plans to turn it into a youth hostel.
