The Krinner-Kofler-Hütte is a staffed self-catering mountain hut run by the Mittenwald section of the German Alpine Club, sitting at 1407 m below the Soiernspitze in the Karwendel range. It's a great pick for hikers craving remote alpine scenery without the crowds of the bigger huts.
The surrounding landscape is classic rugged Karwendel - rocky ridgelines, steep slopes and sweeping views toward the neighboring peaks. In summer, the alpine meadows around the hut turn lush green, making it a popular base for hikers and climbers tackling the nearby summits. With no winter room and a strictly seasonal opening, the hut keeps a genuinely wild, high-mountain feel.

Practical information
The hut is named after Matthias Krinner and Hannes Kofler, two section climbers who died in 1932 on the Aiguille du Dru in the Mont Blanc massif. Its history is dramatic in its own right - the building has been destroyed twice by avalanches, most recently in 2000, and was rebuilt again in 2004.
