Perched at 2,077 m on the southern flank of the Großer Bettelwurf, the Bettelwurfhütte rewards visitors with sweeping views high above the Halltal valley in the Karwendel range. It's a classic Tyrolean mountain hut that has welcomed hikers and climbers for well over a century.
The surrounding landscape is rugged and dramatic, with sheer limestone ridges and panoramic views typical of the Karwendel. In summer, the hut serves as a popular base for tackling the Großer Bettelwurf and Kleiner Bettelwurf, and it forms an important stage along the Innsbrucker Höhenweg long-distance trail. In winter, an unlocked, heated winter room is available for ski tourers, though safe avalanche conditions are essential before venturing onto the surrounding slopes.
