Kondratowy Przechód is a shallow saddle in the Western Tatras, tucked between the northern ridge of Goryczkowa Czuba and Kondratowy Wierch, at an elevation of around 1820 meters. This is not a place for casual hikers - it's a spot known mainly to experienced mountaineers seeking a practical route between two remote valleys.

The atmosphere here is wild and quiet, far removed from the crowds found on Tatra's marked trails. The eastern slopes drop down into the Dolina Goryczkowa Świńska valley, while the western slopes descend into Dolina Sucha Kondracka. On the Świńska side, a gentle depression covered with grass and scattered dwarf pine leads down to a spring that feeds the Świński Potok stream. Towards Dolina Sucha Kondracka, a wide gully descends - its upper section covered in bilberry bushes, the lower part scree-covered with gently sloping rock slabs. This is terrain for those who appreciate solitude and the untamed side of the Tatras.

How to reach the viewpoint

• No marked tourist trail leads here - access is only recommended for experienced mountaineers comfortable with off-trail terrain; the route is demanding.
• The route from Dolina Kondratowa may look easier on a map, but as Władysław Cywiński notes, in summer it leads through dense dwarf pine thickets and is barely visited by anyone in their right mind.

Practical information

• Unmarked location, suitable only for those with mountaineering experience and confident route-finding skills in alpine terrain.
• The more practical approach is from the Świńska valley side rather than from Dolina Kondratowa.

The name of this saddle was introduced by Władysław Cywiński in his detailed guidebook to the Tatras - today it remains chiefly a landmark for seasoned trekkers looking for an alternative way into Dolina Sucha Kondracka.
